India U17 men’s football team delivered an impressive attacking performance as they defeated Tajikistan 4–2 in the first friendly match, showcasing depth, confidence, and finishing quality.
The Blue Colts started on the front foot and broke the deadlock early through Dallamun Gangte (8’), setting the tempo for the match. India continued to press and doubled their lead when Denny Singh Wangkhem (48’) found the net soon after the break.
Tajikistan responded with goals from Mekhrubon Dilzoda (18’) and Sadriddin Sattorov (66’) to stay in the contest, but India kept their composure and attacking intent intact. A crucial own goal by TJX (75’) tilted the momentum back in India’s favour before Washington Singh Ngandom (90+1’) sealed the win with a stoppage-time strike.
The 4–2 victory highlights India’s growing strength at the youth level, especially in transition play and finishing in the final third. With several positives to take forward, the result will boost confidence ahead of the upcoming fixtures in the U17 setup.
The teams are expected to meet again in the next friendly, where India will look to build on this strong performance and continue their preparation.
