The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India ‘A’ squad for two warm-up matches ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The matches will be played against USA and Namibia, serving as crucial preparation fixtures before the main tournament.
Ayush Badoni has been named captain of the side, with a strong mix of young talent and experienced performers making up the squad. The team includes exciting names such as Riyan Parag, Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, Khaleel Ahmed, and all of whom will be eager to make a strong impression.
A key highlight is the return of Tilak Varma, who joins the squad just in time and is expected to feature in at least one warm-up match before linking up with the senior Team India setup. Wicketkeeping duties will be shared by N. Jagadeesan and Urvil Patel, while the bowling attack looks sharp with a blend of pace and spin options.
These warm-up games are expected to help the team fine-tune combinations, assess player form, and build momentum ahead of the global tournament. With several players knocking on the door for senior selection, the matches promise to be highly competitive and closely watched.
