PM Modi Pays Tribute to Ajit Pawar, Calls Him a True Grassroots Leader

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic demise of Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and a veteran political leader, who lost his life in a charter aircraft crash near Baramati in Pune district on Wednesday morning.

Taking to social media, the Prime Minister described Ajit Pawar as “a leader of the people” with a strong grassroots connection and a lifelong commitment to public service. Modi said Pawar was widely respected for his hardworking nature and his dedication to serving the people of Maharashtra.


In his condolence message, PM Modi highlighted Pawar’s deep understanding of administrative matters and his passion for empowering the poor and downtrodden sections of society. He termed the untimely demise as “very shocking and saddening” and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and countless admirers across the country.


Ajit Pawar was regarded as one of Maharashtra’s most influential political figures, known for his accessibility, administrative acumen, and strong connect with the masses. His sudden death has sent shockwaves through political circles, with leaders from across party lines paying tribute to his legacy.
